No GMO - Vivaro (PN)

30 July, 2010 - The activists cut the flowers of the transgenic corn MON810 patented by Monsanto in a cornfield in Vivaro (PN), in order to avoid genetic pollution on the surrounding plantations.

This is the second cornfield in Friuli found to be polluted with illegal transgenic corn. The owner of the field was sentenced to pay a fine of 25000€ and to destroy the cornfield.
